Welcome to my Frankenlife

Hi! You just fell across my homepage.

My name's Steph, and this is my latest (and smallest) area of the www.

I live here.

When I'm doing nothing else, I help out with this project, and have been doing so for the last couple of years. My main rôle is as acting editor of the PHP-GTK manual.

One thing leads to another, and the PHP project - and the people I've met through it - takes up most of my spare time these days. So let me introduce you to the gang :)

Working with the PHP crew has led to travelling a great deal - mostly for conferences such as PHP International and LinuxTag. We don't get paid for any of this, but we do get free flights and accommodation in return for our presentations, which seems a very fair deal to me.

An argument on irc with one of the Zend guys led me to make my own, self-funded and curiousity-motivated trip to Israel back in February. The bar I frequented in Tel Aviv blew up a few weeks after I returned, so I made a follow-up journey out there just before my college course began. Here's the journal from the second trip. As you may notice, I fell in love with the place.. and with some of the people.

If you want to know how I got the Hebrew characters online, look here. I couldn't find a cheatsheet anywhere on the net, so I made up one of my own.

Oh, and by the way - here's the latest addition to my brother's ever-growing family - Grace, aged < 1 day - and also young Tom (the next child up), snapped on the same day.
